Gong Seung Yeon and Kim Jae Young Spark a Sweet, Soulful Romance in “My Lovely Journey”

Get ready for a romance that soothes the heart rather than racing it. Gong Seung-yeon and Kim Jae-young are teaming up in Channel A’s upcoming weekend drama My Lovely Journey, a healing journey full of pure excitement, set to premiere on Saturday, August 2 at 9:20 PM.

The newly revealed couple poster featuring the two stars is already making waves. Set against a lush green backdrop, the image shows the pair sitting back to back in serene nature—Yeo-reum (Gong Seung Yeon) beaming with a warm, sunlit smile as she gazes at Yeon-seok (Kim Jae Young), who returns the look with soft affection in his eyes. Their gentle, unfiltered expressions capture an unmistakable sense of fresh chemistry—charming, real, and wonderfully unforced. The poster alone hints at a romance that unfolds with quiet magic rather than dramatic sparks.

My Lovely Journey isn’t your typical high-stakes love story—it’s an emotional healing drama centered on self-discovery, growth, and the connections we build along the way. It follows Kang Yeo-reum, a former idol who trained for seven years but saw her career fizzle out after just one. Now five years into life as a travel reporter, she pours everything into her work despite being a little clumsy, charming those around her with her infectious energy and sincerity.

Meanwhile, Lee Yeon-seok is a textbook high-achiever—an engineering grad from a top university who ditched corporate life to chase his passion for filmmaking. Though he’s currently stuck in a creative slump, he’s driven by a quiet determination and a surprising emotional depth beneath his gruff exterior. With a “soft-on-soft” charm, he’s as vulnerable as he is sharp.

Though the two leads come from very different worlds, their paths cross when Yeon-seok takes on the editing for Yeo-reum’s travel program. What begins as a simple professional collaboration soon turns into something more intimate—a gentle, chemistry-filled romance that blooms not in chaos, but in the calm spaces in between.

Featuring warm tone, heartfelt storytelling, and stunning visuals capturing scenic spots both in Korea and abroad, My Lovely Journey is poised to become the go-to healing drama of the summer. It trades dopamine-driven drama for emotional nourishment—a detox romance that leaves viewers feeling comforted, not overstimulated.

As anticipation builds, one thing is clear: Gong Seung Yeon and Kim Jae Young are about to take viewers on a journey of love, discovery, and quiet joy—the kind of travel that changes you from the inside out in My Lovely Journey.
